Visit Austin’s Swimming Holes
If it is summertime, cool off in one of Austin’s swimming holes. In town, there’s Barton Springs Pool, situated in ZILKER Metropolitan Park. This huge, natural pool of water has a driving board and lots of areas to lounge in the sun. We heard some great things about this pool, but they sell a limited number of tickets to keep crowds low. AT the starting of June, they were sold out for the next 2 weeks. This swimming hole can also close for high bacteria levels when the weather has been extremely warm.
Get Nostalgic at PINBALLZ
If you need a slight break from the BBQ, live music, paddle boarding, how about few hours playing old and new pinball games? With actual games dating back to the 70s and 80s, and you can feel like kids again, with games like Space Invaders and Centipede and old Pinball games we used to play when we all were younger. PINBALLZ has a great mix of new and old games. This is a small area located on the outskirts of town. For us, it was 1hour of pure fun.
